The Coronavirus has hit many businesses across the globe, and one of the biggest hit is the UK Tourism Industry. Parks have had to close and as a consequence have missed months worth of bookings, inevitable but extremely hard to come back from when all of this is over. So we would like to ask you to help us out, and "Postpone Don't Cancel". We don't know when we will make a full comeback, but Millendreath Beach Resort aims to be here for everyone when we are over this pandemic, and we would love to see, and appreciate it so much if, as many people as possible could postpone their getaways instead of cancelling them outright.
A staycation in the UK could be the safest option for a little while, and we will be here ready to welcome you to our beautiful beach resort. Our self catering apartments overlook Millendreath Beach and the valley, and are well equipped for all your holiday needs. Our apartments are light, airy and perfect for a family holiday, a romantic couples getaway, or even a weekend with some friends!
And don't forget we have some great onsite facilities....
Our beautiful Bistro on the Beach sits on the beach front and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner (dinner on specific evenings) and also some delicious cakes, cream teas, and freshly brewed Cornish Coffee. We have a huge selection of herbal teas, soft drinks, bottled beers and wine from our local wine merchant, Castang Wines. Our chefs locally source their ingredients and make some incredible tapas dishes alongside the regular menu. If you're looking for a bite to eat in the sun looking over the sea while the kids play on the beach, a catch up with friends, or even just a takeout coffee for that stroll along the coast path, we are the perfect place. The Bistro on the Beach at Millendreath is open to the public as well as our guests!
Our stunning Beach Bar commands amazing views as it is located over Millendreath Beach itself. We serve draught Cornish beer and cider, as well as a great range of wines, bottled beers and soft drinks. However, we are known for our hand crafted cocktails, using the finest spirits and fresh ingredients. Recently, we have also become well known for our fantastic range of rums! We stock all of the Dead Mans Fingers rums, which have some really interesting flavours including hemp and coffee, and also our Cut To The Overproof rum, not for the faint hearted at 75.5%! with over 20 rums to try, we think it would be wise to book an apartment (wink wink). You can enjoy a drink on our wraparound decking overlooking Millendreath Beach whilst listening to the waves, or sit inside in our quirky and cosy bar with comfy seating and mood lighting. We look forward to welcoming you to one of the most beautiful bars in Cornwall.
We are very lucky to have a bay with, ordinarily, calm waters and this lends itself perfectly to water sports. Millendreath Beach Resort has a great team, Sea Explorers UK, who work alongside us and provide a brilliant water sports offering. You can hire kayaks, paddle boards, and even the unique Sea Scooter. These are battery powered machine that propel you very slowly through the water, and help you to dive to see the sea life. To find out more head to their website or Facebook Page - Sea Explorers UK
Millendreath Beach Resort also has it own small onsite shop, located in Guest Services, and stock all the essentials. Forgot your toothbrush? Don't panic! Need something for dinner but don't want to drive out the valley? Grab a few bits from the shop. We even sell some lovely souvenirs, and the family holiday favourite, postcards!
Nature at its finest...
Millendreath not only has its own sandy, south facing beach, which is wonderfully maintained by our fab team here, but we also have 65 acres of woodland for you to explore. Perfect for those active adventurers among us, and a cool, shady spot to walk your dogs in the summer. There a plenty of trails through the woods, and we do a Woodland Walk sheet for little ones to help them explore. Get these from Guest Services.
Millendreath Beach is known for its clean and safe bathing waters. We also are one of very few places in the UK that's home to one of only two native species of British Seahorse. This shows just how clean our waters are, as seahorses will only live in the clearest of waters. We have a pier perfect for fishing, which is permitted any time during winter and before 9am and after 6pm in summer (see signs on beach) and this pier creates a lagoon, a safe place for little ones to paddle and swim. This self fills and empties with the tide.
We allow BBQs on our beach, as long as they are disposed of correctly. Please do not bury coals or equipment. We offer a BBQ disposal unit on the beach front, so please use this.
During the winter months, dogs are allowed on Millendreath Beach any time of the day, and during the busy summer period (May 1st– Sept 30th) they can enjoy our beach before 9am and after 6pm. There is a dog friendly beach along the coastal path to the left and the right. Dogs are allowed on Seaton Beach year round, however, we don't recommend taking dogs out in midday summer sun, which is why our beach times are perfect for pooches. All we ask is you respect other beach users and pick up your dogs poo. There are bins provided.
Our beach is cleaned daily by our busy maintenance team, and we often have organised beach cleans throughout the year. Most plastic and waste is washed up by the sea, so we do this year round to keep on top of it. We have recycling bins and waste bins around the beach front and in the car parks, and our guests are brilliant at taking their rubbish away with them! We ask everyone to do the same, recycle or bin it, and help keep beaches clean.
All in all, we have a pretty amazing place down here at Millendreath. It's the perfect place for family holidays in the UK, it's one of Cornwalls top places to stay, and we look forward to welcoming you once all of this is over to our stunning Beach Resort at Millendreath, Looe.
